Hello and WELCOME! I am so glad you are here. NO, honestly I am! If you are here it means that you care about God, your children, your health, well-being, family, environment, crafts, house, cars, saving money and most of all how to do it all by yourself. Being frugal is my middle name! This means that I try to do most of the home repairs, regular maintenance on my cars and I try to make almost everything by myself. Enjoy, I know I do!

Modified Dog Leash
Don't get me wrong I love my Dog, but he does have a tendency to get on my nerves just a little bit. We have had our dog Sir Didimus a Bichon Frise (pronounced as: Beeshon Frizay) for over a year now and in that time he has managed to chew through 3 collars. In fact he chewed through the one that had his rabies tag on it and the rabies tag was lost. Until, he got his shot again this year with a new tag.
After chewing through his 3rd collar (one was even a harness) we started using his leash as a collar/leash (noose). We even hooked his leash up to his dog line outside. The only problem is that it's like a noose on him and when he pulls it, the leash chokes him. I was really afraid that one of these days he was going to seriously hurt himself. When we went for walks he just pulled and pulled until he started gagging. I have been brainstorming for months on what to do and honestly was at a loss.
While we were on a walk one day I decided that if I put a knot close to his neck that the leash clasp would go so far and then stop right before it starts choking him. I feel much better about this and I am pretty sure that Sir Didimus appreciates it even more. So, if you have a nutty dog like mine that really cannot stand to wear a collar. I suggest the knotted leash method! :)
Honestly, I really do not know how we lived with collars this long. The leash is really easy to just pull and put around his neck. And, then when he takes off outside the leash tightens on its own and stops at the knot. Even if your do does not chew through collars I would recommend this method.
