I just want to make this clear. It is not completely accurate that your hair has to be 12 inches and cannot be color treated hair to donate it. There is an organization called 'Children With Hair Loss' that gives hair to children that are hairless. In fact, I just got my hair cut the other day and I am donating 8 inches of layered hair to them. My longest layer is 8 inches and my shortest is 4. Please, pass the word on this subject. There are millions of people that get their hair cut and it goes in the garbage. Your hair does NOT have to be 12 inches long!
Here is the link to 'Children With Hair Loss' again :HERE: This link is set up to directly go to the 'Requirements for Donating Hair'. Thank you for taking the time to read this and remember to donate your hair and to let people know that they too can donate!
I printed off several of the donation papers, and then went to the local salon and left a stack of papers for them. There are A LOT of people that do not know about this organization, and I would love to get the word out. Thank you again for taking time to read this post!!!
This is good to know, because I always heard the 12" and no color treatment, too.
ReplyDeleteI know, that's what I grew up with thinking. I have known for a few years about this organization. This is my second time donating to them.
DeleteNate really likes that I donate my hair. He thinks it's a great reason to grow hair out and cut it. Since I donated the first time, he doesn't say anything about my hair when I get it short.
