So, I was standing in the kitchen the other day and the phone rang. Can you take a wild guess what happened when the phone rang?! Yup, that's right the kids came into the room and wanted to talk to me. When I got off of the phone I asked both of the kids what to do when I am on the phone unless it is an emergency. And, they both said, "Wait Patiently!" Now, I am going to have to give 'E' some credit on this one, she helped come up with the idea. Of course it does involve my trusty laminator.I was trying to think of something what would help the kids when I am on the phone. 'E' and I came up with a laminated paper and a dry erase marker that we will keep in the kitchen. If it's not an emergency then the kids will write down what they needed while Nate or I were on the phone. This idea also gives respect to the kids. Honestly, how many times have you had to ask someone a question and while you waited patiently you forgot? Well, I personally have done that more times than I can count. I told 'E' that she was going to have to help 'T' since of course he is only 2-years-old. Now, 'E' completely agreed with it and I also said that the dry erase marker was going to be kept up out of reach of little hands.
Ok, so I did go even one step further. I used my hot glue gun to glue magnets on the back of the laminated paper. I also, hot glued a magnet to the back of the dry erase marker. This way I have control on where to put the paper and the marker. I was also, worried about the kids grabbing the paper and the magnets flying off of the fridge. I don't know about you guys but it is really hard for me to keep anything on the fridge with 'T', he rips the stuff off of the fridge all the time.I do not know if I have said this yet, but I do love my laminator and I honestly do not know how I have lived without one for so long. My husband bought this for me as a Valentines Day present for me this year. And, I absolutely LOVE IT!! So, guys if you want gift ideas I would recommend getting this for your significant other!
