My husband's grandmother is dying and has been on Hospice for months. Now Gram is sleeping in her hospital bed downstairs. Gram has always slept downstairs and watched the television all night. She is definitely a night owl to say the least. And, Paws (Nate's grandfather) sleeps upstairs out of reach of hearing Gram if she needs him.
Well, the other day when I was there I asked her what this was on her table. Come to find out Hospice told them to get one of those portable/wireless doorbells. This way Paws could still sleep upstairs and Gram could still call him if needed. Paws also, carries the door bell when he is outside. I am not sure how far the doorbells will go, however he keeps it with him as long as he is at the house. The best part is that Gram is comfortable knowing that she can still reach him if needed and Paws is comfortable knowing that Gram can be heard.
